Enhanced Remote Terminal Unit

The GSI E/RTU is specifically designed for industrial applications such as pump and valve control, emergency shutdown monitoring, meter monitoring and proving, as well as many other critical digital I/O requirements.

The GSI E/RTU provides a minimum of 3 Digital Outputs and 4 Digital Inputs for remote control and monitoring of devices such as valves, pumps, alarms, horns, etc.

It includes communication error-checking, on-board diagnostics, and fault tolerance to avoid false outputs due to single point component failures. It utilizes MODBUS as its standard communication protocol but it can be easily reconfigured for many other protocols. Communication interfaces include RS485, RS422, Serial Fiber Optic, 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet, or 10/100BASE-FX Fiber Ethernet.

On-board jumper & switch options allow the user to select the desired communication baud rate as well as pre-programmed features. Standard options include latching inputs, remote lock-out capability, and double command controls.

The high speed scanning capability of the PC-120 module makes it possible to use the module in pulse counting applications where the input frequency can be as high as 2,000 pulses per second. Custom applications utilizing this capability include meter monitoring and meter prover monitoring.
